Community Spotlight: Bullhead Regional Food Bank Expands Facilities

The Bullhead Regional Food Bank used more than $800,000 in Community Development Block Grants to significantly expand its storage capacity with a 4,000 square foot warehouse.

“We’ve been steadily growing since 2024,” said Executive Director Stephen Brown. “We outgrew the facility we were in.” The needs arrived in different ways, Brown said.

“In our area, it’s boiling hot. It’s hard to see our clients being outside,” he said. The expansion allows the food bank to serve 1,200 people a week from 300. And shipments now reach 80,000-120,000 pounds of food delivered weekly by partners like St. Mary’s Food Bank.

The organization worked with the BHHS Legacy Foundation to purchase a church and to remodel it to suit the food bank’s needs. Brown says the food bank will move in this month.

And they will work with the American Red Cross to turn it into a cooling center for area residents.
